I liked your review
Simrad customer service is not as good as their transducer. Was left on hold……… for hours, for a simple transducer bracket replacement. When I looked up a replacement, they only sell kits that include many pieces that are not needed, plus drive the price up to over $50. Think twice before buying, and then buy a Garmin. Garmin customer service is top notch and will go back to Garmin after this Simrad Go7.
I was seriously thinking to buy the new Simrad GO 7 or 9 XSE because all the amazing features that come with, and I believe it is a great GPS- Chartplotter, but I have read a lot of complains from another customers about Simrad customer service witch is really poor. I have been using Garmin for many, many years and the customer service is one of the best, friendly, helpful, professional and fast for solutions, and this is extremely important for all of us as customers, That’s why I will go back to Garmin. WAKE UP GUYS !!!!!!. What are you waiting for improving your horrible customer service ?
In this highly competitive market, Simrad fails to understand that only selling a good product is not good enough. Better Customer service could make Simrad Go7 another level.
I have a Simrad GO9 XSE. Twice now it has DELETED all coord. & tracts. This is horible. I would NEVER purchas another SIMRAD product. I am not the only boater that has had the same problem. How dangerous is this! Be very careful.
Simrad GO7 XSE Fishfinder actually provides accuracy. And, I found this article on Google first page and enjoyed the review. Thanks

I am having trouble with the depth readings going in and out on mine seem to work fine when going slow but goes in and out at higher speeds.
Its very sensitive to proper placement. If its too high or two low in the water when the boat is on plane it wont work right. Also the angle tilted up or down needs to be as close as possible to level with the water surface. I find about 1/2 of the transducer needs to be in the water below the bottom of the boat on plane. More or less than that there is a reading problem. Minor adjustments are key to dialing it in.
You can set your transducer as low is it can be but at least 2′ from the motor. You also want to be sure you don’t have anything that is forward of the transducer like a live well pickup.
I want to install one of these but don’t have space to flush mount, how waterproof is it on the external mount?
You can mount externally because it comes with Waterproof Rating IPX6 and IPX7. Use battery in a waterproof battery case with waterproof connections, and will probably stow the battery inside the boat, and drill a small hole for the power cord to go through.
Customer service:
My Simrad GO 7. Had a problem of over heating in the hot Texas Gulf. I was not able to use my unit at all..I called Simrad customer service about this problem .They were quick in helping me and very polite, I was told to remove my system from my console and return it to them. I was sent a brand new unit at no charge to me at all and no questions asked. Customer service for me was top notch!!!
Hi,
I would like to acquire a Simrad GO 7 fish finder, on which I would like to connect an Airmar TM 260-7 1 kW 50/200kHz Broadband Transom Mount Transducer JRC/Simrad 7-PIN connector.
Will it fit with the instrument? Or would I need to get a special connector?
Thanks for your help
